Announcements

[Include a Spoon or Fork in lunch box] When packing lunch for your child, please include a fork and/or a spoon. The cafeteria/food service is separate from Folger McKinsey and they charge 10 cents for a spoon/fork utensil and a napkin for those students not purchasing from the cafeteria.
The PTO purchased thousands of «sporks» at the start of
school. The supply is almost gone. Rather than spend hard-earned
fundraising dollars on this item, we ask that parents pack utensils for
their children. It makes it easier for them and of course, helps our
Maryland Green School Initiative.
Folger McKinsey will not give «spork» to students that forget it in
their lunches from home. Children who purchase school lunch will
continue to receive utensils.
[Register
Your Giant Card] If you haven’t done this yet, please
don’t wait any longer. Register your card (Safeway and Food Lion too!)
at the respective store’s website and select Folger McKinsey as the
school to benefit. It doesn’t cost you anything. A portion of the
dollars you spend at Giant are shared with Folger.
Last month, Folger raised $1,000 through the Giant bonus
card program, thanks to the several shoppers who registered their cards.
Imagine how many dollars we would raise for things like technology (ipads,
perhaps!) in every classroom, if every family registered?! Visit the
PTO webpage for more details.

[Student Meal Accounts] Monitor your child’s account balance for meal purchases, check what purchases have been made, and receive e-mail notifications when your child’s account reaches a low balance. Parents can deposit money to a student’s account online through electronic check, credit card, or debit card. The money is applied to a student’s account within minutes, which means that with a simple click of a mouse or a phone call, students and parents can avoid forgetting lunch money. Online deposits will incur a transaction fee of 4.75 percent. However, parents can avoid the fee by submitting cash or checks directly to their child’s school. To start using the system, parents need their child’s student identification number, which can be obtained from the cafeteria or the school office.
Registration is free and quick, so get started today. Simply click on the Registration button below and follow the easy, step-by-step instructions or go to www.MealpayPlus.com
